Hello, ladies,
I am a social studies teacher at Mercy High School, an all-girls school in Omaha, NE, and I just wanted to thank you for making your music available on your web site. The music teacher and I have worked with some of the girls and formed an Irish folk music group that has performed around town at various festivals and for church groups. What caught our attention was your rendition of "The Parting Glass," which I heard growing up, listening to my parents' Clancy Brothers records. It's a great quiet song to close a performance. We have also used "Glory Bound" and "One Voice" with our band and in our show choir.

This note is an appeal to you to consider a stop in either Omaha or Lincoln (more of a college town 45 miles away with better venues) as a stop when you next tour the states. And should you do so, we would like to invite you to visit Mercy so you can meet some of your biggest fans!

Thanks,
Brooks Humphreys

I have to admit that I never heard of these gals until their music appeared on my Pandora station, which I have put a good amount of effort into creating with just the style I really like (the station name is Alison Krauss, so that says a lot). The more I hear the more I am REALLY impressed. I hope I can catch them in person some time. I would travel to see and hear them.
Cassi from Grass Valley wrote on September 23, 2016 at 7:12 am:
I saw you're planning to go to Dublin in March, if you have a chance you should try to eat at Dog House Blues tea house and restaurant in the harbor town of Howth, next to Dublin. I don't want to over sell it, but it will be the best experience of your entire life.
Gwyneth from Seattle wrote on September 21, 2016 at 4:56 pm:
I just ran across you guys on Pandora and your voices are so beautiful together they immediately grabbed my attention and I had to check you out! The song that got my attention was Long Time Traveler and I'm going to go listen to more of your music now. 🙂
Scott Winkler from Casco wrote on September 15, 2016 at 1:39 pm:
Greetings, Ruth, Nicky, and Heather!

Just had to let you know that in my creative writing class today, as we're studying the impact of imagery, a student provided an effective example from a song she loved, and as we discussed it, I told her it reminded me of the splendid images in "Asleep at Last." When I said "by The Wailin' Jennys" another student proclaimed, "The Jennys? I LOVE the Jennys!" It's splendid to hear of fine folks discovering your music and holding it in a special place (she also declared that she listened to your music all the way from Wisconsin to North Dakota, with "Long Time Traveler" being the most frequently played tune for her). The Winklers all hope you're well, and we look forward to seeing and hearing you again soon. All the best!

Hi there!
Have been following WJ for some years now and LOVE your stuff! I was also thrilled to be able to see Ruth Moody and her band in concert earlier this year in Seattle, WA. Blissful experience. 🙂

I've been trying to get ahold of the sheet music for Storm Comin, but no luck yet - could you please let me know who I should be talking to about that?

Hi! I'm the Pianist at Union Presbyterian Church in Endicott, NY. My pastor introduced me to your music and I absolutely love it!! I would like to know if we could get your permission to sing "Storm Comin'" during one of our church services. We would include your names as writers. It's such a moving, beautiful song! I've purchased it on iTunes and find so much beauty and emotion in it. Thanks so much!

I attended a concert here in Terrace BC back in 2004 for your new album at the time, 40 Days. I was profoundly impacted by your performance and moved deeply to make a positive change in my life. Your music, as well as your beautiful youthful sparkle reached me and reminded me how life is meant to be lived. Thank you for this chance of being inspired and lifted at a time when I needed it.

We saw you guys in Portland on Friday night at Revolution Hall. We brought along four friends. They couldn't contain themselves - best show they had ever seen and heard!!! You guys weathered the 7 hour drive EXTREMELY well. We saw you in Arcata CA last year after the night at the Arcata Hotel - very funny. Best to Ruth and her new family. Please put the Jenny's together whenever it fits with your real lives. We can't wait to get our hands on the Cowboy song!

Your music is as close as I can find to what my heart sounds like.

Thank you for staying after the show to meet people. I know nothing of your lives, I don't even know your names. All I know is your music, and it speaks to me. Should I ever get married, at least 3 of your songs will be on the "must play" list. Your music and efforts have soothed my soul and left me agape at life's wonders.
When you played "The Spell of the Lilac Bloom," I fell in love with the soul smiling next to me. I can't wait to buy your new album and really feel life through new lenses.

Thank you for coming to visit and for playing for us. It was one of the best memories of my life. Whatever you had to overcome and/or enjoy to get you there on that stage, I'm grateful for.
Love is light and you all shine.
